Darwin, 'The Origin' and the future of biology.
A panel discussion with a keynote speech, presented by video, from the famous evolutionary biologist Professor E.O. Wilson. The event brings together a Booker Prize winning author, Charles Darwin's great great grandson and leading figures from the field of evolutionary science to look at Darwin's big idea and its continuing impact on our modern understanding of life exactly 150 years on from the publication of On the Origin of Species.

Prof. Wilson is considered the founder of sociobiology and evolutionary psychology, and has developed the base of modern biodiversity conservation. He has received many of the world's leading prizes among which are Commander, First Class, Royal Order of the Polar Star, Sweden (2009) and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Award, Principality of Monaco (2009). He was awarded Pulitzer Prizes for The Ants (1990, with Bert Hölldobler) and On Human Nature (1978). In 2006, Prof. Wilson received the TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) Prize, where he introduced the concept of the Encyclopedia of Life - a contemporary, dynamic web page for every named species.
